FAST Wins Gold at Speedo Champions Series

FAST swimmers Ricky Henahan, Todd Winchell, Greg Danner, Willy Brophy, Dylan Scheemaker, Mark Matheson, Yuri Chornobil, Jim Wood, Jenna Wood, Devina Tyagi and Emily Swett recently competed at the 2008 Spring Eastern Zone Speedo Champions Series held at the Nassau County Aqautic Center in East Meadow, NY.  In the men's division, our team won the 200 and 400 medley relays.  The 200 victory was especially significant, as it established an Eastern Zone, Region 1, swim meet record.  Additionally, it was a Niagara District Open age group record. 

This summer's championship will be held at Penn State University in their 50-meter, outdoor facility.  This meet will be a "Super Sectional", combining competition from the two regions within the Eastern Zone.  The cut times to qualify for this meet are much faster than the spring championship.
