Deborah Burke, FAST Age Group Coach

FAST Age Group Coach

Deborah has had many years of experience, and was a Head Coach before coming to FAST. She was a Jr. National level swimmer, the District Representative at the National Age Group Coaches Conference in 2000, was a Zone Coach and an assistant at the Niagara Camp. Deborah has been with FAST for a total of 11 years. She provides professionalism and expertise at both the Age Group and Senior levels.

Deborah was a competitive swimmer for 10 years, first on a summer league team and later on a year round club. She was an original member of the Hurricane Swim Club, which is now one of the premier swimming organizations in the Deep South. Deborah was the first team captain of her club, held numerous team records and was a Junior National Qualifier at age 16 in the 200IM, 200 Backstroke and 200 Freestyle events. Deborah began coaching at age 19 in the summer league in the New Orleans area, with her last team winning their league championship meet. Six athletes she has coached went on to compete at the national level. Deborah also earned a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at Mississippi State University and is employed at the Rochester Mental Health Center as the Director of Rehabilitation Services.
